The ask
“Families were comparing NVUSD with charters and private schools on perception, not facts. The district's front door, its website, had to show what 29 schools actually offer and make enrolling the easy next step.”
What we did
We mapped what families come to the site for and put those tasks in the first screen: visit, enroll, questions, athletics, calendar, payments, menus. The district's line, Belonging Today, Future Ready Tomorrow, leads the page with the numbers behind it, and the NVUSD mark and type system carry through every page. News, newsletters and board agendas publish from the district's own CMS, so the site stays current without a developer.
The showcase
Every screen, every family.

Inside the site
Built around what families need.

- Families first
- Visit Us, Enroll, Questions, Athletics, the district calendar, SchoolCash Online and menus sit in the first screen.
- One line, three numbers
- Belonging Today, Future Ready Tomorrow leads the page, backed by 16K+ students, a 24 to 1 ratio and 91.2% who say they belong.
- News that updates itself
- District news, the family newsletter and board meetings post from the district's own CMS. No developer needed.
Mobile
Made for the phone in every pocket.

Behind the scenes
How we got there.

- 01
Listen
What families ask for most, from the district's own data and the enrollment campaign research.
- 02
Map
Sitemap and top tasks, then wireframes for the homepage and school pages.
- 03
Build
A design system on the NVUSD mark, the build-out, content migration.
- 04
Launch
Staff training, launch, and the 2025 enrollment campaign that sends families to it.
The result
What changed.
- Top tasks for families in the first screen
- The district's story in one line and three numbers
- News, newsletters and board agendas that staff publish themselves
